We are one of the longest established family-run funeral director businesses in Ayrshire, with branches located in Kilmarnock, Stewarton, Galston and Darvel. We are proud to have a trusted reputation in the local community of East Ayrshire and endeavour to provide a personal and caring service to help our families through the most challenging of times.
We currently have a vacancy on a casual basis for a bearer/driver. We require a smart and reliable person with a full clean drivers licence to join our team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles
- Assisting at funerals as a chauffeur and pall bearer
- Assist with out of hours on call service in the evenings and weekends
- General duties associated with daily operation of business
**This role would suitable for people who**
- Have a sensitive approach to serving customers with good attention to detail
- Have an ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances
- Are able to communicate in a clear and considerate way
- Are well presented, courteous and of good character
- Are able to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting)
**Other Information**:
- Able to reliably commute within 20 minutes maximum of Thomas McKellar and Sons Kilmarnock office
- Experience not required, as training will be provided
- Participate in an 'on call' rota, as part of our 24-hour care service.
- Work location primarily in Kilmarnock and surrounding areas of East Ayrshire
Please note this is a zero-hour contract, based on 'as and when required' basis.
**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
**Salary**: £11.50 per hour
