Widnes LocalityTeam have secured funding for two, 2 year fixed term, Early Help Family Workers to focus on supporting young people affected by drug & alcohol use.

Many of the young people working with our service have additional needs therefore, in addition to drug & alcohol experience, you would benefit from having experience of working with neurodiversity and an understanding of how working approaches may need to be adapted to enable young people to successfully engage with support strategies.

The role includes being Lead Professional for Multi Agency Assessment/Support Plans and specific Drug & Alcohol Assessments & Reviews, this includes coordinating services, implementing and reviewing action plans. You will complete direct work with young people and their carers in areas such as positive parenting, behaviour management and family relationships. You will join a proactive team who are passionate in their focus on harm reduction and will also be working with other professionals to deliver group work and training to parents, carers and young people. We utilise a nurture based approach to our practice.

In keeping with Halton’s Levels of Need, the Locality service works with families as they step up and down the continuum of support. You will manage an individual caseload and as such be able to prioritise your own workload and meet challenging deadlines. You will be a team player with excellent communication skills. Case recording must be clear, analytical and timely. In return, you will receive regular high quality supervision and support from your supervisor and benefit from the existing knowledge and professionalism of your peers. You will work in a friendly positive environment with opportunities for development.
