**Payroll Officer**

**£14.50 per hour**

**Havant**

**Part Time - 20 Hours per week**

The purpose of this role is to provide a timely, accurate and compliant end to end payroll service in line with best practice, legislation and company policy. As part of the role, you will produce and distribute management reports relating to employee costcontrol and monitor payroll KPIs

**Main Duties**
- To ensure all payroll and benefit related records are kept up-to-date on the in-house HR system including but not limited to: processing new joiners and leavers including termination payments, increases and back pay calculations; absence logging and tracking;tax code changes; change of address; monthly overtime; benefits administration; payslip printing and distribution; scanning to employee files
- Administration of leave payments including holiday, sick, maternity, paternity, shared parental leave etc.
- Responsible for the month/year end process to include preparation of monthly payment schedules, P45’s, P60’and P11D’s
- Validate and reconcile all payroll changes and maintain an audit trail
- Keep abreast of legislative changes relating to payroll and to ensure full payroll compliance
- Ensure that the payroll system is accurately maintained and fully optimised, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement
- Provide support and guidance to line managers on payroll administration
- Provide a high level of customer service to all employees, taking a proactive approach to all queries ensuring that they are followed up and closed or escalated
- Responsible for the administration of Auto Enrolment
- Ensure that GDPR principles, employment law and best practice is followed throughout the payroll process
- Production and distribution of management reports such as; turnover, absence, overtime, spend against budget
- Monitoring of payroll accuracy using KPI’s - error rates, deadline compliance, out of pay run
- amendments
- Completion of ONS and other annual returns

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience of using SAGE Payroll
- Experience of working with NEST pension provider
- Good understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments, tax calculations and NIC rules
- Understanding of salary sacrifice rules and benefits and pensions compliance
- Competent Microsoft Office user with excellent advanced Excel skills
- Extremely organised with excellent attention to detail
- Dynamic, logical, organised approach to problem solving
- Confident and resilient with a proactive attitude
- Confident and respectful communication skills both written and verbal
- Can deal with confidential matters, with discretion and professionalism
- Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues all levels
- Excellent team player
