We have an opportunity for a senior paediatric nurse to take on the role of paediatric matron at MCHT

Whilst being accountable for providing leadership you will work alongside the paediatric ward and department managers to manage the daily operational running of nursing services in additional to initiating and monitoring performance standards and where necessary intervene to ensure that safety and quality is maintained. This role requires participation in the Senior Manager On Call rota for the organisation

The main duties of the job are but not limited to

Supervise and monitor the daily operational running of neonatal and paediatric Services including the management of staffing levels. Initiate and monitor changes and improvements to practice. Continually monitor standards, by identifying risks, benchmarking, audit and research. Analyse clinical risk reports/complaints, develop, implement, and monitor action plans to address specific issues and shortfalls, reporting on improvements. Work alongside the Senior Management Team and provide line management to the ward and department managers within paediatric services. Support the Division by the effective use of resources, e.g. staff, budget, premises, equipment, supplies and materials. Act on any relevant HR issues staff such as behaviour and performance management, sickness and grievance.
