Hays Technology are working in partnership with a well-known organisation to recruit a Senior IT Project Manager on a permanent, home-based basis. Our client has offices in Coventry, Bournemouth and Reading and occasional travel will be required to your mostlocal office as part of the role.
This role resides under the Innovation and People Directorate within the IT Department. It contributes to leading the various teams to provide a high quality, cohesive and customer focussed service, which supports the overall strategic objectives of the organisation.The role will be at the forefront of enabling organisational change, as we evolve as an innovative, digitally focused organisation.
Role purpose:
The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, and within scope to meet the organisations strategic goals for the Business Plan, Digital Strategy, and the IT Strategy.
Key Accountabilities:

- Responsibility for the completion of medium to large scale IT projects within agreed timeframes, and defined scopes to ensure delivery of enhanced business continuity for the organisation.
- Facilitating project requirement scoping and business expectations, establishing a baseline for which the delivery of a solution can be initiated and ensuring the right solution is implemented.
- Responsibility of tracking spend on project delivery to meet the budget expectations.
- Developing detailed project plans with Microsoft Project and documentation that follows best practice project methodologies and frameworks to ensure projects are managed effectively.
- Responsibility for identifying, reporting, and mitigating project risks and issues to reduce delay and impact to project delivery timescales.
- Managing relationships by ensuring regular progress reports and communications are delivered to project stakeholders. Building good relationships with the Project Management Office and the IT teams.
- Being involved with project related procurement processes ensuring that all external consultancy and supplier engagement adheres to and follows the organisations procurement processes.
- Managing all aspects of project change, ensuring that the organisations standards for change management are adhered to, avoiding unplanned changes that disrupt service delivery and impact project resource.
- Ensuring all project related testing and acceptance activities are completed to the organisations required standards for effective service transition.
- Ensuring service transition documentation and training is completed prior to rolling out solutions to the live environment.
In order to apply, you must have the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience as an IT Project Manager managing multiple, medium to large scale IT Projects concurrently.
- Excellent understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks.
- Ability to understand high-level technical architecture and be able to facilitate debate and make sound decisions based on appropriate solutions.
- Excellent communication, influencing and liaising skills at all levels - open, honest, and inclusive communication style.
- Experience of managing business change from inception through to delivery.
- Experience of tracking spend for a successful project delivery within budget is essential.
- ITIL Change/Release Management knowledge.
- IT Operational experience, committed to being customer focussed and continuously improving processes.
- Team working skills - collaborative, proactive, enthusiastic, and passionate.
- Desirable qualifications: PRINCE2, PMI, AGILE, ITIL.
