**A day in this role looks like.**

As a Night Support workerat Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

- Provide support to service users, documenting contact on our case management system.
- Provide overnight waking cover to ensure a safe and secure environment and maintain high standards within the service.
- Logging and recording any maintenance issues in accordance with procedures and assisting with the maintenance of the building, furniture and fittings as appropriate.
- Ensure the security of the building through regular Health and Safety checks, and the monitoring of any CCTV, the emergency alarm system, and regular patrols.
- Adhere to the post holder's own responsibilities to health and safety in the workplace, and to colleagues, service users and the general public.
- Carry out the nightly duties on the cleaning rota within the building.
- Ensure the smooth running of the building; including implementing community agreements, policies and procedures with clients as required.
- Deal with emergency situations, taking action in the event of a fire or other incident and being responsible for calling emergency services in an appropriate manner.
- To report all relevant incidents to the On Call Manager in line with procedure and to ensure good record keeping of any incidents, in line with organisational procedure and to handover to the Team Leader and Service Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Treat all clients with dignity and respect, to act in a calm and objective way when dealing with difficult or problematic situations.
- Offer general support related to the clients' needs, risks and aspirations and to facilitate access to emergency services if required.
