Capita are working with an organization in Glasgow that have embarked upon an exciting strategic transformation programme, to bring organisational, process, system, and service improvements.

They are looking to recruit a Head of Project Delivery to take responsibility for the project management function, supporting the Transformation portfolio.

If you have a track record of delivery at a senior level in a PMO Function, and proven success in delivery of projects and programmes, then this is an opportunity for you.

Role: Head of Project Delivery

Contract: Permanent

**Salary**: £54000 to £61800 per annum (experience dependent)

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement the Programme Delivery strategy and lead the design and implementation of a common delivery management methodology (e.g., based upon the Change Framework which underpins Transformation’s work), standards, and tools to drive and facilitate thesuccessful delivery of outcomes.
- To take a lead role in the strategic management and delivery of the portfolio outputs and products and achievement of portfolio outcome targets, including maintaining performance monitoring systems and recommending remedial action to manage identified risks.
- Lead the execution of a Project Delivery governance, reporting, and review framework to provide a holistic view of all project activity across relevant portfolio.
- Provide assurance framework including planning, risk, benefits, and dependencies reviews.
- Manage interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated
- Identify and define the major strategic issues and integrate diverse stakeholder interests with thebroader agenda to inform the development and prioritisation of project initiatives and to proactively understand and mitigate risks
- Define business strategies and organisational policies to enable the strategic coordination of multiple major projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of projects
- Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, training, and support to enhance Transformation’s project/programme management capability,and improve collaborative development and project results
- Lead the development of the project management competency, with a focus on Agile delivery and methodology.

Criteria:

Recognised formal project management qualification (Agile/PMP/APMP/PRINCE2/P30) or equivalent
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development relevant to the role
Evidence of operating at a strategic level in portfolio, programme, and project management offices
Proven ability to manage a range of project types and complex business initiatives and change programmes
Excellent leadership and management abilities
Excellent influencing skills with an ability to persuade a wide spectrum of stakeholders
Excellent knowledge in risk management frameworks and ability to manage risk at strategic, tactical, and operational levels
Proven strategic portfolio management, including resource, benefits, and financial/budget management
Significant experience and a proven track record of delivery at a senior level in a PMO Function
Proven success in delivery of projects and programmes which have had a significant impact at a strategic level
Demonstrable track record in strategic management and delivery of large development programmes and projects
Experience of working within an interdisciplinary matrix team containing experienced professionals
Experience of prioritisation matrices and working with the business to determine appropriate project reprioritisation
Experience of resource planning against the prioritised portfolio of projects and ability to work with the PMO and business units to manage project resource needs
Thought leader with a view to creating a viable PMO service and supporting pragmatic delivery of projects
