Night Auditor

Overlooking the historic City Walls and Monk Bar, the city’s largest Medieval gateway, the hotel is within walking distance to York Minster and other main attractions. The DoubleTree by Hilton York comprises of 143 air-conditioned guest rooms, The Yorkshire Bar and Grill, Orangery, 24-hour fitness centre and 2,400 sq. ft. of flexible, state-of-the art event space.
- Ensure all security measures are strictly enforced during the night. This is to include cash handling and key security procedures.
- Ensure all accounts are processed correctly, checked and all necessary documents raised for the Finance Department.
- Be responsible for allocated cash floats and carry out the banking as directed.
- Ensure all the night audit procedures are completed to the standards required by the company.
- Deal with late room cancellations/releasing rooms and out-bookings as per senior guidance.
- Ensure all hotel guests receive efficient reception services upon arrival and departure from the hotel during night time hours.
- Be fully aware of all of the hotel’s facilities, tariffs, and current activities.
- Liaise with reception at handover to ensure maximum room sales.
- Be aware of current occupancy in other local establishments where applicable for out-bookings.
- Have a full awareness of and operate hotel switchboard.
- Collate and pass on information and messages to other departments and guests as necessary.
- Collate guest early calls and newspapers, and programme within the system.
- Undertake any night, late or early postings as per hotel or company procedure.
- Accept other duties that will ensure the efficient operation of the Hotel.
- Consistently deliver superior customer service.
- Attend training when required.
- Assist with the training of new team members when required.
- Be responsible for the smooth operation of the hotel at night in the absence of the Night Manager.
- Comply with statutory and company requirements for Fire Safety, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Licensing Laws, Disability, and other legislation.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely without risk to health.
- Be fully aware of and strictly always adhere to company cash and key handling procedures.
- Assist Night Management with fire walks, and, in case of an emergency assist with Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks.
- Assist with setting up of Breakfasts, and conference and events rooms.
- Cleaning duties including the main lobby and public areas.
