Preceptorship Midwife

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated newly qualified midwives to join our 12 month preceptorship programme.

Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust delivers maternity care to over 5900 women per year which includes two beautiful stand-alone birth centres. You will have the opportunity to rotate to all clinical areas within the acute unit. On successful completion of the programme you will gain your band 6 grade and can then discuss working in the community or one of the birth centres if you wish.

We are proud of our excellent facilities which offer women real choice in place of birth. We achieve 1:1 care for all women choosing to birth with us, in every birth setting - Home Birth, Midwifery Led and Obstetric Led.

We have been nominated several times for RCM awards and are internationally recognised for our research and practises into ‘Kangaroo Care’, for the promotion of well-being in transitional care babies.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
