Our client based in the New Forest has an immediate requirement for an experienced Purchaser to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role will be varied and interesting, you will have responsibility for the purchasing process from supplier selection, supplier management and pricing through to delivery. You will work in partnership with production and sales departments to provide complete buying support that helps convert sales and deliver quality compliant products.
**Duties to include**:
- Purchasing parts and kits as required
- Raising and sending purchase orders
- Ensure stock levels are maintained, replenishing stock as needed.
- Update MRP system parts and supplier records
- Chase back orders to ensure delays are kept to a minimum.
- Reporting all supply problems to managers
- Researching and sourcing of products and materials
- Proactively manage costs, in line with required budgets
- Utilise skills to negotiate best prices / payment terms / deals from suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance.
Applicants must have recent and relevant experience in purchasing, you must be well-organised, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office Programs.
There is an immediate start available for this full-time permanent position, 37.50 hours per week Monday to Friday with some flexibility on working hours between 07:30 am and 17:30 pm.
