We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated School Councellor/Play Therapist.

**Key responsibilities: (see attached job description for full requirements)**
- To provide a confidential therapeutic service to students and maintain appropriate secure records
- To work individually with students and also provide group work when deemed appropriate
- To work closely with the school’s Pastoral and Safeguarding staff to support children and young people, including attending regular Pastoral Core Group meetings
- To think systemically and work with staff as well as parents to help create a therapeutic environment for the child
- To work within the Wellbeing centre as a fully integrated member of the community

**What we are looking for**:
**Essential**
- Counselling or psychotherapy qualification to Post Graduate Diploma or Masters’ level
- Specific level 5 or above qualification in working with children and adolescents
- UKCP registration, BACP or PTUK accreditation or demonstrably working towards this
- Good understanding of attachment and child development as well as the specific developmental and other issues faced by 3 - 13 year olds
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by young people in a day and boarding school environment and within the education system in general
- At least 4 years post qualification experience in counselling/psychotherapy or play therapy
- Experience of working within a school environment
