Baking Assistant

**Job Purpose/ Job Description**:
OUR LOVE AFFAIR with cakes began back in 2002 when we opened our first Cakes & Bakes branch in Eastham, London.

We imagined a place where customers searching for scrumptious eggless cakes and savouries could discover a wide range fit for any occasion, without paying through the roof.

**Key Requirements**:
Assist in the preparation of cake mix and other ingredients.

Operate baking equipment and follow recipes to produce consistent and high-quality baked goods.

Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve the desired product quality.

Conduct regular checks on the freshness and quality of ingredients.

Assist with the decoration and presentation of baked items, ensuring they meet the bakery's aesthetic standards.

Follow proper storage procedures to prevent wastage.

Maintain a clean and organised bake house, work area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.

Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.

Work closely with the head baker and other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient production.

Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth workflow.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Lift and carry heavy bags of ingredients.

Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

**Skills, Experience, and Qualifications**:
Communication skills both listening and verbal

Ability to build good working relationships

Ability to work using own initiative

Strong English language.

Good Experience as a Cake Decorator /pastry chef

Flexible and open-minded, able to adapt within a fast-changing environment

Quick self-starter, pro-active attitude

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£29,500.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Baking: 1 year (preferred)
