**The role of Apprentice Vehicle Mechanic**:

- Learn and undertake all associated skills and theory to become confident and competent in all aspects of vehicle maintenance, service and repair
- Learn and undertake all associated skills and theory to remove, replace, install and test a wide range of parts, both interior and exterior on vehicles
- Train in the use of tools appropriate to the job task
- Complete all jobs that may be allocated by workshop supervisor/depot manager
- Comply with health and safety requirements, safety legislation and understand the effects of the legislation with regards to the work environment of your trade
- Ensure that your working environment is clean, tidy and safe at all times
- Attend college/approved training centre and any other development events and ensure the completion of online learning was assigned to you.
- A drive for personal development
- Willingness to learn through on-the-job experience and training
- A genuine enthusiasm for producing a high quality of workmanship
- Dedication to commit to the 3 years apprenticeship and 1 year time serve.
- Confidence with interpersonal communication with the ability to multitask
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Ability to work as part of a team with a can do attitude
- A understanding of the importance of organising, prioritising job tasks with the ability to time manage multiple tasks
- Basic knowledge of mechanic (advantage)
