**The position itself will include, but not be limited to**:

- Undertake structural inspections of highway structures in accordance with CS 450
- Prepare safe systems of work for site inspections and prepare site RAMS documents
- Planning of site works including logistics and supplier management and engagement
- Detailed reporting of site inspection findings including preparation of defect sketches
- Utilising client's asset management systems (structures databases)
- Attending client meetings and liaising with clients and other stakeholders
- Work closely with team members, project managers, and PCL staff
- Planning and management of project tasks and site teams
- Identifying changes in scope and supporting the management of change control
- Contributing to team development and the spread of knowledge throughout the team
- Be flexible and undertake any duties as and when required to assist in PCL operations
- Supporting the implementation of CDM duties on projects as required
- Adhering to PCL Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, Environmental and Sustainability procedures
- Actively pursue on the job and formal training opportunities that complement PCL business needs, your personal development plan, and the site requirements of the role
- HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or similar) preferred
- Minimum 4 years' experience in similar role
- Have demonstrable experience of highway structure inspections
- Be aware of structural concepts and the principles of highway structures engineering
- Have a sound knowledge of highway structure inspection and assessment standards
- Have experience planning and delivering highway structure inspections
- Be self-motivated with good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Have experience developing safe systems of work, and mitigating site risks
- Be committed to their own personal growth and development of engineering skills
- Be aware of the commercial requirements of projects and contribute to identifying and managing change control
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
- Understand Health & Safety requirements and awareness of CDM duties
- Have sound computer skills on the Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Be competent in the use of AutoCAD for the preparation of defect sketches
- Have a full UK driver's license with at least 3 years post-test driving experience
- Be working towards a LANTRA Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme
