At** **Brathay we support children and young people by providing inspiring residential experiences offering personal and social development to young people who have had a range of challenges in their lives.

Our residentials take advantage of our beautiful home in the Lake District - they're usually run over a number of days and on occasions a client may request additional support overnight in advance of their stay.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience of caring or supporting children and young people who may have a diverse range of needs and vulnerabilities ensuring their wellbeing is at the heart of your decision making
- Experience of building trust and rapport with children, young people and professionals from other organisations
- Proven ability in managing challenging behaviour and deescalating situations making decisions throughout which keep children and yourself safe

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Level 3 (or above) qualification in working with children and young people or equivalent level of practical experience
- An up-to-date First Aid Certificate (8 hours)

**More about this role**:
The needs of each group will vary and as a result, the overnight supervisor will either be able to sleep or could be required to be awake throughout the night.

Sleeping Watch - you stay overnight within the accommodation block where the group is sleeping. When undertaking sleeping watch, you can expect to be woken by the young people if they have an issue during the night. Sleeping watch is £126 per night.

Waking Watch - you are awake overnight and available in the communal area to support the young people once the visiting staff go to the staff rooms within the accommodation block to sleep. Waking watch is £147 per night.
