**_We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Project Surveyor to join us_**
You'll work as part of the Investment team within the Property department, responsible for the delivery of a range of planned maintenance and improvement projects including individual properties and large-scale programmes, ensuring high quality services to all customers.
The role is designed to allow you to gain property investment and asset management skills to enable career progression within the housing sector. The role will be supported by a ‘learning and development’ package, which will provide the successful applicant with both ‘on the job’ training and complementary formal training opportunities.
**Key responsibilities**:

- Alongside the Project Managers, assist in progressing the delivery of planned maintenance projects and effective asset management activities.
- Management of complex and important asset information, monitored by the responsible officer.
- Working alongside the Project Managers, to produce accurate reports including project progress, budgets and risks.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with cross departmental colleagues, Local Authorities, and other stakeholders in conjunction with other members of the Investment team.
- Liaison with consultants to assist in the delivery of planned maintenance projects.
- Develop a clear understanding of construction, defects, building contract standard forms, and contract administration processes for the effective delivery of projects.
- Through a comprehensive training package, develop a clear understanding of project planning and budgets being applied to property investment activities.
- Ideally a HNC in construction (this is desirable) or related experience in construction
- Desire to work within the Asset and Investment team to gain knowledge and experience in the maintenance and asset management of WCHG’s social housing stock.
- Knowledge of current issues relating to the management of social housing together with a general understanding of the business and its environment.
- Good IT skills, especially Excel.
- Ability to use initiative and work as part of a team.
- Strong communication and administration skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Problem solving aptitude.

Please note you must possess a full UK driving licence.
