What will you be doing as a Shift Supervisor?
**Supervision and Leadership**:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the restaurant staff during assigned shifts.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring smooth operations.
- Motivate and inspire team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

**Staff Training and Development**:
- Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance.
**Shift Coordination**:
- Oversee the overall flow of operations during the shift.
- Coordinate with other supervisors, managers, and staff for effective communication.
- Ensure that all team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
**Customer Service**:
- Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Address customer concerns and complaints, seeking resolutions promptly.
- Lead by example in providing excellent customer service.
**Quality Control**:
- Ensure that food quality, presentation, and service meet established standards.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies.
**Cash Handling and Financial Accountability**:
- Oversee cash register operations and transactions during the shift.
- Reconcile cash drawers and complete daily financial reports.
- Collaborate with management on financial goals and cost-control measures.
**Problem Resolution**:
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Escalate significant issues to higher management as needed.
**Adherence to Policies and Procedures**:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Enforce health and safety standards to maintain a secure and clean environment.
- Uphold quality control measures in food preparation and service.
**Scheduling**:
- Assist in creating and managing employee schedules.
- Monitor staff attendance and address any attendance-related issues.
**Communication**:
- Effectively communicate with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members.
- Relay information about specials, promotions, and any changes in procedures.
**Inventory Management**:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels for supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
- Collaborate with management on ordering and restocking needs.
**Team Collaboration**:
- Work collaboratively with other shift supervisors and management.
- Assist in the coordination of special events, promotions, and marketing efforts.

- Previous experience and confidence in managing a team.
- A genuine passion for hospitality.
- A track record of providing outstanding service.
- Effective communication skills.
- The readiness to handle anything the day brings (figuratively, not literally).
