The role:

- As Buying Manager you will have full P&L accountability leading a team of 4 buyers. You will develop, implement, and review a trading strategy for a specific product range of food products developing innovative buying strategies which exceed customer expectations.
- Leading the team you will support in category reviews, joint business planning, pricing & promotional strategies etc
- The Buying Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the supply base and the product range is optimized using data and analysis to maximize performance and drive sales, profitability and market share
- Negotiating with suppliers you will agree and deliver market leading joint business plans aligned to customer and wider commercial strategy. You will identify opportunities to improve all-in-margin and will manage and review the performance of a complexsupplier base to drive engagement and performance.
- The Buying Manager will source new and innovative ranges and product innovation that exceeds customers’ expectations that is first to market. In addition, you will develop innovative own brand ranges
- As Buying manager you will be accountable for revenue generation across supplier income, over riders etc
- You will over see the customer journey and trade marketing on the website and lead on customer touch points to maximise sales
- This Buying Manager role is ideal for a commercial individual who has food buying experience gained from UK food retail. This may be in buying or trading. You could also be working in sales/category for a UK FMCG organisation
- Having excellent leadership skills you will have people management experience, at least a team of 3
- You must be able to analyze complex sets of data and have good project management experience
- It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands on buying and have negotiated directly with suppliers. You must be able to show good commercial acumen, strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent communication skills
- In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer and a flair for commerciality
- You will thrive in working in a fast-growing ecommerce business as part of a small but growing team
