**About our client**
We are working with an established single-family investment office, looking to hire an Investment Associate into their London-based team. You will be part of an entrepreneurial team, where you have a high level of involvement in all aspects of the investmentprocess, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The team invests across real estate, equities, private equity, venture capital, special situations and fixed income. The team also looks at social-venture investments and those with ESG characteristics. This role is will involve investing into funds, co-investmentsand special situations investments across the capital structure.
**What the job involves**:
- Initial screening of new fund investment opportunities, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, equities, special situations and fixed income.
- Involvement in all aspects of the investment process, with a particular focus on financial / management due diligence and commercial analysis
- All aspects of the internal investment execution and approval process
- Working on all aspects of private markets co-investments and special situations investments
- You will work very closely with the MD and the Investment Committee which includes the Founder
- You will be part of a small team that will include accounting and administrative support
- There are clear return targets in each period from the allocated capital
- Portfolio monitoring including reviewing quarterly reports and discussing performance with underlying GPs
**Who we are looking for**:
- You will have prior experience of private equity fund investing (i.e. primaries / fund-of-funds / manager selection), and of undertaking due diligence on private equity fund managers
- Ideally a CFA holder
- Experience of undertaking due diligence on private markets funds
- Some previous work experience in either corporate finance, transaction services or investment banking is preferred
- Strong experience in fund selection and monitoring
- Strong analytical experience of equity and debt investments
- Solid report writing experience (PPT and Word memos)
- Ideally experience of producing investment memos for sanction (debt or equity)
- Comfortable with PowerPoint
- Strong academics and a proactive and mature attitude
- A 'self-starter' who can take on responsibility from the offset
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- The CFA qualification is preferred but is not a pre-requisite
