You’ll also shape and deliver a robust and effective risk assessment and monitoring programme and deliver the future risk operating model, focussed on the longer-term strategic direction, simplification, and digitisation of risk management.
In addition to this, you’ll:
- Deliver the strategy and overall operational risk, conduct, compliance, and financial crime policy, governance, and frameworks for NWTDS and RBSI DS
- Challenge business activities or decisions where there is the potential to exceed risk appetite, breach risk-owned policy or where risk appetite is inadequately expressed
- Oversee the receipt of risk services from the organisation under the Intra-Group Agreement (IGA), ensuring the needs of the business are met including for market abuse, technology risk, and Client Asset Sourcebook (CASS) Oversight
- Oversee the delivery of TDS and DS Risk reporting, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of relevant information and analysis
- Ensure the professional capability of the Depositary Risk team meets the needs of the business and customers
**The skills you'll need**:
We’re looking for someone with an understanding and experience of relevant risk theories and practices including regulatory compliance, operational risk, and financial crime risk management principles. You’ll have in-depth knowledge of risk frameworks and systems, and controls for the MiFID and the depositary business. You’ll also have an understanding of relevant EU and UK regulation, voluntary codes, and their impact on the business.
Along with an understanding of the wider organisational strategy and extensive knowledge of relevant industry and commercial environments, you’ll have experience leading teams of compliance, conduct, financial crime, and risk professionals across multiple locations.
We’re also looking for:
- The ability to communicate effectively with management, the board, and regulators
- Experience within risk, compliance, and financial crime business areas
- Experience operating within a complex business across multiple regulatory regimes and a track record of keeping up with regulatory developments
