A vacancy has arisen to join the Estates Maintenance Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro working predominately at Hayle and Penzance sites.

This is an important and challenging role to maintain the hospital's maintenance systems to a high standard to maximise the patient and staff experience. Working within a team of other Mechanical and Maintenance staff, you will be responsible to the Mechanical Team Leader for carrying out installation and replacement of systems including fault diagnosis, testing and maintenance correctly and safely. You will be working with a variety of systems including:
Systems and Plant

Mechanical Systems

Ventilation and air handling

Control Systems

Specialist Services

You will work Monday to Friday, some flexibility will be required as some work may require out of hours attendance and you will be expected to cover a 24 hour on-call service as required.

What you'll bring with you

Level 3 or higher qualification in Engineering or similar

Experience in carrying out installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of systems

High standard of written and verbal communication skills

Maintenance and repair of the Estate mechanical systems and water systems.

Pipe fitting, Installation and servicing of safety valves and TMV’s.

Preparing drawings and carrying out equipment surveys.

Use of specialist tools and safety equipment.

Using calibrated instrumentation and carrying out technical testing.

Assessing and costing mechanical tasks.

Ordering materials and fittings.

Installation of a variety of mechanical/plumbing services, including AHU, motor systems, macerators and commercial appliances.

Complete maintenance documentation.
