_**We are looking for a Demand planner to join our Demand planning team based in Stoke-on-Trent, to ensure the availability of specific categories within budgeted stock levels**_.

Our Retail business is headquartered from Crewe and is the UK’s largest off licence operator with a growing convenience offer under our fascias of Bargain Booze, Wine Rack, Select Convenience and Central Convenience - all with over 600 stores nationwide

**Your main responsibilities**
- Check demand that is generated from stores to ensure it can be fulfilled whilst controlling stock to prevent over-stocking
- Monitor promotions and take actions to rectify changes in demand
- Keep business risk lines (discontinuations/slow movers) to a minimum and take actions to keep stock levels to a minimum
- Monitor the launch of new products into the business to ensure they are on time and stock levels are appropriate for go live
- Accountable for cost-effective purchasing measures such as lead time, order parameters, volume and delivery method
- Plan and communicate seasonal trends in volume to ensure great availability.
- Work closely with the Distribution Centre to ensure any day-to-day supplier issues are dealt with
- Develop genuine and sustainable partnerships with the relevant suppliers
- Lead initiatives that will benefit our business in terms of improving lead-times on new and repeat orders
- Influence production programs with key suppliers on key products to ensure smooth stock flow in line with planned intake phasing
- Attend monthly/quarterly meetings with strategic suppliers

**About You**
- Previous experience within a retail environment or commercially aware would be preferred
- Previous experience of working in a Demand Planning function
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Confident, driven and enthusiasm to learn and develop your skillset
- Highly self-motivated with excellent communication and people skills
- Strong organisational skills
- The ability to meet tight deadlines
- Decision making ability and a sense of responsibility
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Programmes, Excel skills are essential
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
