**Bangor Marina**:
Looking for an amazing opportunity to indulge in your love for water activities? Look no further than Bangor Marina and Harbour, where tranquillity and adventure converge. We are currently searching for talented individuals to join our team and become part of the exciting world of boatfolk. Situated at the coordinates 54°40'N, 5°40'W, our marina is nestled in the heart of the charming city of Bangor, a mere 13 miles away from Belfast. As the leading marina in Northern Ireland, we offer 530 marina berths, accommodating boats up to 26 meters long. Bangor Harbour operates as a commercial harbour and can accommodate vessels with a length of 70 metres and drafts up to 4 metres. Our expansive breakwaters ensure a secure and sheltered haven for all boats. At Bangor Marina and Harbour, we strive for excellence in both our services and facilities. Our well-maintained pontoons and shoreside amenities guarantee an exceptional experience for every sailor. **Role purpose**:
An opportunity has arisen at Bangor Marina for a Berthing Master to join our friendly team. The role of a Berthing Master is to support the Marina Manager in proactively facilitating the efficient and safe running of the marina. This includes responsibility for assisting customers with all aspects of their berthing experience and keeping site and facilities clean, tidy and well maintained.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Harbour Estate, including the Marina.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and comply with the Port Marine Safety Code
- Follow established safety procedures meticulously.
- Maintain all facilities and equipment in a clean, organised, and safe condition.
- Operate the Marina/Harbour workboat safely.
- Allocate berths, manage and record vessel movements within the Marina and Harbour, and provide essential LPS information.
- Raise invoices, process payments using the Harbour Assist programme, and maintain accurate records.
- Perform general reception duties with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Communicate effectively with vessels using VHF radio.
- Ensure the safety of vessels, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, movements, and safety information, ensuring proper handover to the next shift.
- Control public access and ensure site security.
- Assist with on-site event management as required.
**Working Hours and Environment**:
This position is offered on a zero hour contract, providing flexibility in working hours, including nights. You will be engaged as needed, depending on operational requirements.
