Café Assistant

Job description

**We are looking for an experienced Café assistant with bags of enthusiasm, to join our team on a maternity cover basis.**

**Hours**: Tuesdays 7am to 3pm, Wednesdays 7am to 12pm and Fridays 8am to 12pm = 16.25 hours per week
- Your shifts will fall across our club opening hours (Monday - Sunday).
- There will be opportunities for overtime to cover holidays, sickness, and events.

**Salary**: £11.44 per hour + great benefits (see below)

The **Café Assistant** is an essential role in our busy cafe. You'll be based front of house, taking customer orders, preparing and serving cold/hot drinks, snacks, and food orders from the kitchen. This varied role will also include general cleaning in the cafe and kitchen, stock checks, and washing up.
- Please note_: As we hold an alcohol license and serve alcoholic beverages, we are ideally looking for someone over the age of 18. Younger applicants are still encouraged to apply, as we may be able to work around the shift patterns to ensure appropriate cover.

**Requirements**:

- **Essential**: Experience of working in a customer facing role, ideally in a busy restaurant or café.
- Confident when speaking with customers.
- Great customer service skills.
- **Desired**:

- Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene. For the right applicant, we can provide this training.
- We'd love it if you are already Barista trained, but again we will provide all the essential training you need.
