**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure identification procedures are adhered to at all times
- Provide a personal service to families from all religions and cultures, ensuring that all deceased are given proper and appropriate treatment in a dignified manner by following the best possible standards of preparation and presentation
- Prepare, embalm and dress deceased in line with families wishes
- Ensure all details are correct on the day of viewing
- Complete all necessary paperwork involved in the running of the mortuary correctly and efficiently, ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures and Processes are adhered to
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times, including the mortuary facilities, equipment and environment
- Ensure COSHH regulations are adhered to at all times, complying with approved materials and chemicals
- Offer support and advice to colleagues on the preparation and embalming of the deceased, whilst ensuring dignity and respect at all times

**General Duties and Responsibilities**
- ** Health & Safety**: All employees are required to adhere to Health & Safety Regulations and ensure best practice is met by both themselves and by their colleagues
- **Conduct**: All employees are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner in accordance with company policies and codes of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook
- ** Quality**: All employees are expected to work within the systems, processes and procedures outlined within the department and / or company handbooks or software platforms or training manuals
- ** Flexibility**: A reasonable degree of flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role, the department and the wider company
- A proven British Institute of Embalmer’s Diploma (BIE)
