**Pay rate: Day £11.45**

Are you a trained Phlebotomist? Are you available to start immediately in a new role?

NHS Professionals have an exciting opportunity for a Phlebotomist to support our client trust. You will be responsible for accurately and safely providing necessary care to patients engaging with the service in the Trust. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:
Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with electronic records; bringing discrepancies to the attention of senior colleagues and verifies patient by reading patient identification.

Obtains blood specimens by performing venepunctures and fingersticks and maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.

Contribute to the holistic management of patients care needs through initial data collection, monitoring of patients progress, feedback discussion reports and in care reviews with the Community Nursing Team.

Monitors glucose levels by performing glucose tests; recording results; reporting results to senior colleague and maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Collects therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure appropriate drug dose to collection time and Tracks collected specimens by initialling, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining electronic records of collections performed.

To work on own initiative and within scope of competence, referring appropriately to the Community Nursing Sister and/or Community Matron for patients that may require onward referral.

Driving Licence required as you will need to travel to patient homes; insurance for business use is also a must.

Ability to work by yourself and be comfortable around patients; basic admin & IT skills.
