Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Leicestershire as well as being representative of the county of Rutland. The Club's limited overs team is called the Leicestershire Foxes.

Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s Community Team’s focus is to support the recreational game and inspire people to choose and enjoy a lifelong involvement in the game of Cricket. We seek to recruit a Community Cricket Coach to bolster our workforce and deliver sessions that inspire, enthuse, and encourage sustained participation.

**Job Role**:Community Cricket Coach

**Salary**:£18,000 - £20,000 (depending on experience)

**Reports to**:City Development Officer and Cricket Development Officer - Young People

**Weekly hours**:A total of 35 hours per week, including regular evening and weekend working.

**Location**: Uptonsteel County Ground, Grace Road, Leicester, LE2 8AD as well as delivering coaching sessions around Leicestershire and Rutland

**Job Profile**:
The Community Cricket Coach will look to continue the growth of participation in cricket across the County, with a focus on delivering high quality coaching sessions to inspire young people across our range of successful Community projects. The role will also include the delivery of sessions to children of all ages and abilities in Primary and Secondary Schools and on various Leicestershire CCC programmes.

**Main Duties**:

- Deliver high quality, fun and engaging cricket sessions across a range of programmes, including (but not limited to) Chance to Shine Street & Schools, ECB Core Cities, ECB National Programmes, Lord’s Taverners Programmes and other LCCC activities
- Deliver Teacher CPD and Leadership sessions
- Deliver inspiring School assemblies
- Support School and Community Competitions
- Support the transition of young people from School to Community and Club opportunities
- Monitor, evaluate and report on sessions via the Chance to Shine Portal
- Identify and record case studies for promotional and monitoring/evaluation purposes
- Promote all Leicestershire CCC activities and offers

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications**:
The postholder will have:

- Minimum of an ECB Foundation I coaching certificate or equivalent (or ability to achieve by Feb 2023)
- Valid ECB Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) certificate
- Valid Safeguarding Young Cricketers certificate (Safeguarding & Protecting Children)
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Eligibility to work in the UK

**Training and Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Experience of working with young people in a coaching role
- Experience of working in a community environment with people from a range of backgrounds
- Experience of planning, delivering and reviewing coaching sessions
- A flexible approach with the ability to adjust to different requirements
- Own transport with a clean driving licence is required
- An understanding of the motivations and barriers to participation in cricket or sport

**Desirable**:

- Experience of delivering high quality cricket sessions in a variety of environments
- Previous experience of working in a Sport Development environment would be advantageous
- Evidence of undertaking Continued Professional Development (CPD) around coaching
- Excellent keyboard skills, be computer literate and have a good knowledge of Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with customers, colleagues and members of the public at all levels
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages (word, excel, outlook etc)

**Personal Attributes, Aptitudes and Abilities**:
A can-do mindset is critical for this role. The community coach will need to be prepared to deliver in a variety of settings and to a broad range of participants. Most of the work will centre around community delivery during unsociable hours, with additional responsibilities for delivering in schools. Being able to think on your feet is a must, so adaptability is key. The ability to communicate and promote Leicestershire CCC and all it has to offer will be a key element of the role.

- You may be required at times to carry out various other duties within your capabilities. If requested to carry out any duty that you feel may be outside your capability you should report this fact to your immediate Line Manager before attempting the task
- Greet any directors, employees, members, spectators, customers, sponsors and visitors to the Club in a friendly manner and assist them in any way required;
- Ensure that the requirements of all Club members, spectators, customers, sponsors and visitors are exceeded at every level
- Contribute positively at all times to a pleasant and inclusive atmosphere throughout the Club.
