Forth Ports Group- Tilbury- Share**Container Terminal Operative**:
**PURPOSE**:
To carry out general container handling duties, including driving straddle carriers (land-side and ship-side), cargo handling, housekeeping duties and basic maintenance.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE**:

- To work safe at all times
- To drive straddle carriers to move containers within the confines of the Terminal / Port, as necessary, to service the land-side and ship-side operations.
- To deliver to customers satisfactions
- To maintain shift start and finish time integrity
- To delivery customers cargo to and from vessels in the condition which it was delivered to the terminal
- To ensure that care is taken of company property and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow computer delivered information

The position involves:

- Safely operating a 70 tonne container handling straddle carrier
- Identifying and moving containers to and from vessels, trucks and trains
- Distributing shipping containers throughout our storage yards
- Working as part of a team

You will be expected to work overtime when required and be highly motivated. You must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude and a flexible approach to working days, nights and weekends on a 5 in 7 basis.

It is essential that you have a full driving licence. Experience of working in ports and with plant machinery is preferred but not necessary as full training will be given.
