**Location: Stroud Community Hub with travel required across Gloucestershire**

**STATEMENT OF PURPOSE**:
Guideposts exist to provide services to meet individual needs so that each person has the opportunity to fulfil their aspirations and maximise their potential. We seek to achieve excellence in our work and lead the way in researching, delivering and disseminating good practice.

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**

The Connect at Home Befriender Service provides a friendly and positive presence within individuals homes or while accompanying them in their local community. Our Connect groups are free community groups, with specialist support for people with dementia and their carers.
- Provide direct operational support to the Connect Services Coordinator in the effective running of the service.
- Leading by good example, give clear direction and support to the staff.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Promote the service within the local community and beyond to potential new service users, their supporters, and other stakeholders.
- Have a clear overview of relationships with all individuals who we support.
- Communicate regularly with individuals that we support and their families and social workers.
- Stand in for the coordinator in team meetings from time to time.
- Acts with professionalism and discretion where appropriate in communication with all staff and clients and encourages others to do so.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the Coordinator to compile staff rotas and coordinate visits and efficient use of time and travel.
- Support the Coordinator to carry out risk assessments on clients and staff as relevant.
- Carry out regular communications with carers/families/stakeholders to keep informed of service updates.
- Monitor and update (where necessary) service-related records (client records and contact details, risk assessments, meeting notes etc.)
- Ensures equal treatment of all staff and clients, monitoring, recording and reporting, where necessary, any concerns.
- Support the Coordinator with the induction and training of new staff.
- Support with the staff safe and well checks.
- Occasional support with the delivery of the Connect Groups

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £12.09 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
