n-compass operates across the North of England to help people regain control of their lives, providing hope and a sense of purpose, through the provision of Carers, Advocacy, Wellbeing, Counselling and Volunteering Services.

**Location of position**

Knowsley / Merseyside

**Purpose/Summary of role**
- To provide one-to-one support to adults who require low level support and signposting to other agencies.
- Support adults to develop skills to feel empowered to self-advocate
- Engage with Volunteer Coordinator to develop skills relevant to the role.
- Maintain accurate case notes
- Engage with supervision and support.

**Description of tasks**
- Provide short term one to one support to clients, around health and wellbeing / signposting to other agencies where required.
- Support clients; face to face / via telephone or via video call.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records via our case management system
- Attend regular supervision with our Volunteer Hub team.
- Commit to attending relevant training.

**Time commitment**
- Minimum half a day per week
- Desirable 7-14 hours per week
- Commitment for at least 6 months.

**Desirable skills and qualifications**
- A passion for working with vulnerable people.
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Empathic nature
- Friendly and approachable
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook

**Training and support**
- Induction training
- Safeguarding training.
- Lone Working Training and access to Orbis lone working management system.
- The offer of regular mentoring sessions with frequent welfare check.
- Regular 1-1 meetings with mentor.
- Option to progress onto Level 2 Advocacy training after successful completion of 6 months volunteering.

**Reimbursement of expenses**
- Out-of-pocket expenses, such as mileage, will be reimbursed.
- Mobile phone and Laptop will be provided for use during your role.
