Transport Planner

We are currently recruiting for a well established company based in Leighton Buzzard who are seeking a **Transport Planner & Sales Support Administrator** to join their core team.

Please note, the working hours are **40 hours per wee**k, and you would be required to work **one Saturday every month**. The working hours could vary dependant on business requirements and would be from 6:00am to 19:00pm, with an average of 8 hours a day.

**The job role will include, but is not limited to**:

- Route planning and liaising with fleet planners.
- Handle any inbound customer enquires, sales leads or complaints.
- Dealing with drivers.
- Monitoring placed loads, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring delivery times are adhered to.
- Keeping the customers informed of any late deliveries, and handling the situation accordingly.
- Talking directly to sub-contractors and third parties to negotiate and agree prices.
- Sending confirmation instructions such as quotes and works requests.
- Obtaining POD’s for customers
- Working to KPI’s, targets, and deadlines.
- General office admin.

**Key Skills**:

- A good geographical knowledge of the UK is essential.
- A previous background within logistics or transport is preferable.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
- A core understanding of customer service.
- At least 2 years worth of office based work experience.
- Prepared, willing and able to work 1 Saturday a month.
