Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join an established team of qualified and trainee ACPs in Acute Medicine at Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. The post will be based across all areas of Acute Medicine at Hull Royal Infirmary.
We are looking to hear from registered healthcare professionals who are critical thinkers and have a passion for transforming care. You must have a professional registration which gives you the ability to prescribe as you will be undertaking independent and supplementary prescribing as part of the MSc Advanced Practice at the University of Hull.
You will develop skills in the clinical assessment and management of patients presenting with acute and undifferentiated medical conditions to enable discharge, referral or admission. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, working closely alongside medical, nursing and AHP teams.
Support and supervision is key to the success of the ACP role and you will be allocated a consultant supervisor and ACP buddy for the duration of your training. During years 1 and 2 of the training period hours of work will cover Monday to Friday 8am to 10pm.
In year 3 you will become part of the junior medical rota on the acute medical unit, incorporating some weekend work. Training will cover all areas of acute medicine to include the acute medical unit, same day care unit and the medical short stay ward. You will also be encouraged to spend time in specialist wards and clinics to expand your knowledge and skills.
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust strongly encourages new starters to have the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is not a mandatory requirement to work for us.
**HUTH has two main sites**: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £800 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.
The Trust’s secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.
HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
