My client, a southeast London local authority, seek an experienced Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officer to start an ongoint temp booking asap.

The role:
Assessments of clients Visual Impairments.

Provide information regarding sight loss and entitlements.

Assessment/provision/review of equipment to promote independence.

Mobility assessments/training.

Receipt of regular supervision.

**Main Purpose of the job**:
To provide an assessment, rehabilitation and advice service to adults and children with a significant sight loss who are residents of or the responsibility of the client

**Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties**:
**Assessment**

Assess the rehabilitation and mobility needs of visually impaired adults or children with the aim of maintaining or improving their independence, confidence and abilities.

Under the National Assistance Act 1948, a duty to assess the needs of adults and children who are newly registered as blind or partially sighted.A duty to advise and inform, to assess for services provided by the Visual Impairment Team and/or referralto other services/organizations.

Assess the needs of visually impaired people who have additional disabilities or health problems.This will include those with mental health difficulties, learning disability, physical disability/frailty and dual sensory loss.

Immediate start

Full time Mon to Fri 35 hours per week

£19.87 PAYE per hour
