**A Sliphouse Operative**
**Hours of work - 6.00am - 2.00pm Monday - Thursday, 6.00am - 1.00pm Friday.**
**Job Summary**
Safe operation and control of the slip house. Charging blungers and setting up slip for the bench casting process.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
As Slip House Operative below:
- Following safe start-up and shut down procedures.
- Charging Blungers - Some heavy manual tasks involved.
- Blending & setting up of casting slip to required parameters
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
- Offloading clay and other material deliveries (Forklift Licence required)
In addition, responsibilities as Sliphouse Operative (Grade 1) include:
- Completing the required safety checks & records on machinery and equipment to the required standard and frequency.
- Completing / organising process maintenance as required:
- Stripping down & checking / replacing damaged sieves.
- Control of material storage and housekeeping
- Maintenance of magnets and holders
- And other items as required.
- Maintaining the viscometers to an excellent standard and ensuring calibration is complete daily.
- Promoting the use of the new cellar blunger to recycle material as a priority.
- Taking the lead in the area and managing the supply and control of slip to the casters.
- Organising the workload and offering direction to the Slip House Operative (Grade 2a)
**Other duties and responsibilities**:
- Completion of required process checks and records to a good standard.
- Report issues and any accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences to the line manager
- Displaying behaviour consistent with the personality of the business
- Conducting any other reasonable tasks as required by the business
- Undertaking training and development relevant to the role
- Working in a safe manner taking care for your own health and safety
- Ensuring your work environment is safe, clean and tidy
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
