We require a technical buyer for our client who are a global engineering consultancy specialising in design, development, and integration of cutting-edge electric powertrain, internal combustion engine and vehicle technology.

You will be work closely with the technical, commercial, logistics, and project teams to ensure all components and services are procured on-time whilst securing the best commercial terms and the highest quality standards.

As the Technical Buyer you will be responsible for:

- Leading the procurement function to ensure project and departmental objectives are achieved
- Ensuring sufficient resources are available to satisfy project and departmental targets
- Supporting business Quality System certification activities
- Understanding and advising on materials, manufacturing processes, and latest industry innovations
- Ensuring that the business is commercially protected
- Working within the corporate framework of systems, policies, and procedures
- Working with Supplier Quality to evaluate and re-evaluate suppliers to ensure they continue to meet quality and delivery performance expectations
- Identify, select, contract, and expedite suppliers and their deliveries

As the Technical Buyer you should have the following competencies/skills/qualifications:

- Previous experience from a similar role and environment
- Be able to work under pressure, and on your own initiative, and prioritise accordingly
- A strong capability in understanding drawings and technical information
- A background in prototypes is advantageous
- SAP experience is beneficial
