We have an exciting opportunity for cleaner/caretaker to join our team, working to provide cleaning and caretaking services across our housing portfolio in the Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset area.

**Your Role**

Working under the direction of the Communal Services Manager, you will work unsupervised carrying out cleaning and caretaking duties in the Trust’s supported housing portfolio. This will involve undertaking general cleaning duties including cleaning communal hallways, bathrooms, kitchens and lounges as well as vacuuming, mopping and polishing floors and emptying bins. This role will require you to move heavy items such as furniture and carpet cleaning machines.

You will be expected to provide a responsive, visible service in a professional, courteous and helpful manner whilst responding to service requests effectively to an agreed standard and to ensure targets are achieved.

**Service Unit Provision: Housing Services**

**Purpose**

Providing a mobile cleaning and caretaking service to all the communal areas and grounds of Trusts properties throughout East Boro’s geographical areas of operation.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**CARETAKING/CLEANING**

To clean effectively and to a high standard, on a rota basis, communal areas of Trust

properties specified by your line manager.

To be responsible for general security and up-keep of Trust’s properties and to report all

areas of concern to your line manager.

To promote the proper use of rooms, flats and facilities, taking action where necessary

in accordance with set procedures.

To create and retain good relations with tenants/customers and local residents.

To assist residents to move in or out of the Trust’s accommodation as directed by your

line manager.

To provide cover for other Cleaners and other staff as directed by your line manager.

To be aware of, and follow, all Trust procedures, including Health and Safety guidelines, and to make sure that all tasks are carried out in line with these rules and legislation such as COSHH.

To communicate with your line manager on all matters relating to the effective management and maintenance of the Trust’s accommodation.

To attend staff meetings and training when requested.

To undertake, from time to time, such other duties commensurate with the post, as

requested by your line manager.

**Confidentiality**

The employee shall not either during his/her employment or at any time after its termination:
Disclose any information related to any service user or any matter related to their work at the Housing Trust to any person or persons (except to those authorised by the housing Trust to know)

Use any information for his/her own purpose or for any purposes other than those of East Boro Housing Trust

Through any failure to exercise all due care and diligence cause any unauthorised disclosure of:
Any private, confidential or secret information of the Housing Trust (including in particular lists or details or service user or tenants of the Housing Trust or applicants or relating to the working of any process of the Housing Trust) or which he/she has obtained by virtue of his/her employment.

All notes, memoranda, records and writing made by the employee relating to the business of the Housing Trust shall be and remain the property of the Housing Trust and shall be delivered by him/her to the Housing Trust forthwith upon request and/or upon termination of employment.
