Job Details
We currently have an opportunity for a R&D Technologist / Senior R&D Technologist, to join us at our Winsford site. You'll be supporting our Wound Care business, and will be responsible for the design and development of new innovative wound care medical devices, through research, development and testing.
You'll be responsible for design controls, risk management and all development activities relating to new products, along with remediation work of MDR files. This is a great opportunity to join a high calibre & dynamic team, whilst working on an exciting range of technologies covering the whole breadth of advanced wound care.

Key responsibilities

**What will this role involve?**:

- Specifying and driving execution of R&D programmes including relevant testing to develop new products within a design control framework cooperating with Project Leaders to ensure NPD projects deliver on time
- Develop & maintain Design History Files to achieve long-term global Regulatory compliance
- Develop & maintain Risk Management Files to achieve long-term global Regulatory compliance
- Translation of ISO10993 & local Regulatory requirements into Biological Evaluation Plans and Reports to achieve long-term global Regulatory compliance
- Collaborating with Marketing & R&D team members to champion translation of scientific research into high value promotional materials (publications / presentations / sales aids / demos etc.)
- Development of R&D prototypes in line with Customer Insights/requirements presenting ideas and concepts to internal and external stakeholders as required
- Identifying, developing and validating new Test Methods
- Support regulatory submissions (protocols, reports & technical justification documentation, testing, etc.)
- Adopt, and influence the adoption of high standards of GLP and Health & Safety in laboratories
- Ensure all R&D laboratory testing is performed and prioritised in line with business needs
- Specify and support product/prototype testing when required
**What we're looking for?**:

- Education to degree level in a scientific discipline or engineering related field
- Previous relevant experience in medical devices with working knowledge of GLP, Design Control, Risk Management (incl. CFR & MDR) and preferably ISO10993 requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments collaboratively and effectively, and the capability to influence change / continuous improvement within and outside of function
- Experience translating scientific research into commercially valuable outputs (publications, presentations etc.)
- Excellent practical problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong drive to proactively achieve excellent results
- Good knowledge of H&S, quality and regulatory compliance requirements
