**JOB TITLE: Phlebotomist**

**LOCATION: Bexleyheath Kent with possible cross site working in Kent**

**Working times: Potential 4 on 4 off shift after validation has been completed. Flexibility is a requirement of this role and can be discussed at the interview stage**

Bioma health is a new start up clinic laboratory allowing healthcare screening to be accessible to all. The service is looking to expand into every major city within the UK allowing as much reach to patients as possible. Utilising innovative technologies and methods to offer the best service and care possible to all users.

**Job Summary**
- The post holder is expected to provide front line contact to patients, collecting specimens for rapid point of care platforms and/or supervise self-sampling prior to loading specimens on to analysers.
- The postholder will work as part of Bioma health’s primary site team to inform processes for expansion to other sites.
- They will work alongside Frontline scientists and Biomedical Scientists in the maintenance and preparation of equipment, laboratory cleaning duties and disposal of waste and maintaining bench stocks of consumables and reagents.
- Aid in validation of technologies within Virology, Microbiology, biochemistry and haematology.
- Work within the team to innovate processes to offer the best to patients.
- To offer a helpful and professional service to all visitors and telephone callers and assist, in the provision of a high quality service.
- To assist in the attainment of CQC and UKAS accreditation
- Maintain quality systems and processes within the site
- Training new staff, informing SOP’s and training procedures
- Validating and entering results onto the relevant patient systems
- Aiding in the IBMS accreditation of the site for training provision
- To manage reagent and consumables within the site, work with suppliers to conduct audits, introduce new assays and technologies and reviews.
- Work collaboratively with other sites to ensure smooth running of operations
- Monitor and record KPI’S
- Investigate adverse incidents and conduct risk assessments
- Provide operational management to the site
- Manage staff, including rota’s, sickness and other relevant activities.

Data Protection Act
Employees must not, without prior permission, disclose any information regarding patients or staff. In circumstances where it is known that a member of staff has communicated such information to an unauthorised person, those staff will be liable to dismissal. Moreover, the Data Protection Act (2018) also renders an individual liable to prosecution in the event of unauthorised disclosure of information.

**Qualifications**
- Recognised qualification in phlebotomy which qualifies for insurance
- IT competent In use of various hardware
- Ability to use internet programs and well known Microsoft programmes competently

CPD courses in healthcare

**Experience required**
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- hospital or laboratory experience working as part of a strong team to provide the best patient care
- Previous stock management experience

Experience of on call or out of hours working (weekend work)
