**Our international client requires an experienced Accounts Receivable/Finance Assistant to join their team.**

**Purpose of the Role**:
**Your role as an Accounts Receivable Controller/Finance Assistant will be to provide financial and administrative assistance to the Finance Team, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data.**

**Qualifications**:
**AAT Qualified or equivalent or qualified by experience**

**Description of Main duties**:
**Accounts Receivable Responsibilities**:

- Daily cash banking, recording, and allocating payments
- Chasing overdue balances/remittances
- Daily order sign-off process (to ensure compliance with internal controls)
- All month-end AR processes
- Run and send customer statements monthly
- New customer account set-ups/changes to existing accounts in accordance with internal controls
- Annual credit limit review process as well as any ad hoc reviews during the year
- Liaise with internal sales / external sales/customers to ensure prompt resolution of queries to maximize cash receipts and minimize overdue balances

**Fixed assetsresponsibilities**
- Carry out annual fixed asset physical verification
- General ledger review of work-in-progress capital spend vs projects
- Assist with month-end accounting

**General ledger accounting, including**:

- Month-end activities to assist FC
- Posting journals
- Review the AR ledger for payments in advance for VAT purposes
- Reconciliations & Revaluations
- Assist with the preparation of the month-end file
- Keeping accurate, consistent records in line with company policies, accounting, and tax rules
- To assist with reporting as and when required by the FC

**Ad hoc supportforthe FC, including**:

- Assist with internal and external audits
- Assist with VAT processes
- The completion of ONS Surveys
- To act as a cover for leave and absence with various tasks
- Assist AP function with expense claim processing

**Skills & Experiences**:

- At least 4 years of solid work experience within an Accounts Receivable role
- Proven experience and understanding of AR (allocating cash and chasing)
- Experience as accounts assistant - month-end procedures, reconciliations, understanding of general ledger, AR ledger, etc
- Intermediate to Advanced level with Excel. Must be proficient and confident with producing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and information
- Be confident in using and producing formulas, filters, V Look Ups and maintaining the accuracy of Excel data
- Be able to work alone and as part of a team
- Have an analytic and questioning approach to data and information
- Has a solution-focused mindset to solve issues and problems
- Understand the implications of incorrect information and flag/act accordingly
- To be diligent and accurate with all aspects of the role
- Highly numerate with the ability to research, assemble manage, and manipulate numerical information
- Good communication skills to support discussions on requirements with the internal departments and clearly & confidently with the customer
- An understanding of the importance of data confidentiality
- Being an enthusiastic individual who has excellent communication skills able to fit into a close-knit team environment as part of an expanding business
- To have a methodical approach to day-to-day, monthly, and annual tasks, and an eye for detail
