**Role Purpose**
- To provide quality play opportunities for the children in your care.
- To work as part of a team to support the delivery of activity sessions for children.
- Ensuring the safety of participants at all times
- Motivating and encouraging the children to participate and enjoy being physically active.
- To be a positive role mode

**Key Tasks**
- Effective communication
- Day to day set up, providing safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities and preparing activities.
- To demonstrate a good awareness of safeguarding children, health, and safety, and working within statutory guidelines.

**Hours of work**:
Monday to Friday

Breakfast club - 7:30 - 9:00

After School club - 15:00-18:00.

Holiday club - (Optional overtime)

**Experience**:
Essential
- Experience of working within a team environment

Desirable
- Experience of working with children in the Early Years or within a play or sports environment (Training can be provided)
- Experience of supporting individual and groups of children
- Delivery of sport, play and/or physical activity programmes
- Experience working with young people.
- A proven record of delivering activity sessions.

**Skills and qualities**

Essential
- You must be able to drive or travel to the venues for the times of work stated above.
- You will need to be well organised and demonstrate effective communication skills.
- You must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with and respond to children positively.
- You will work within a small team where you are expected to be a role model to children and other team members.
- You will need to use good judgement, common sense, prioritise and make competent decisions.
- You will need to demonstrate reliability, good timekeeping and an ability to demonstrate positive interest in health and development
- You must have the ability to follow and participate in activity program and planning.
- You must provide a safe, caring environment
