Procurement Officer

The NELFT Procurement team are seeking an enthusiastic Procurement Officer, working within the wider Procurement team but focus on the transactional duties.

The Procurement Officer will be required to support compliance with all Statutory Regulations, Procedures, Standing Orders and Trust Policies generally as directed.

Main tasks will include Buyer duties relating to Buyer Authorisation, Invoice Mismatch Certification, Purchase Order creation, new supplier additions, credit card expenditure, query resolution, etc where appropriate. Support quote negotiation exercises in line with procurement legislation and Trust Standing Orders and Financial Instructions. Proactively and positively contribute to the achievement of deliverables through individual and team effort. Manage the production of the required deliverables and control risks. Help to develop any new forms / templates / process maps to ensure a more efficient transfer of data to and from the procurement and catalogue systems. Enhancing relationships with all end user clinics and departments to ensure that a good customer focused climate is maintained.

Have good interpersonal and communication skills, an eye for detail, and be IT literate with sound knowledge and expertise of Microsoft Office packages.

Be well organised and able to work as part of a team to meet tight deadlines and targets.

This is a permanent role. Working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction.
