Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team

Band 5 Assistant Psychologist; Fixed Term 12 month Contract

We are looking to recruit an energetic and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist who is keen to work with adults with complex mental health problems in the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT). CRHTT is a city wide service, which offers support to people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The CRHTT is an alternative to hospital admission and we work as a multi-disciplinary team to offer short-term support to the person in crisis and also their family members/carers. The CRHTT is a passionate, dedicated and busy service that is keen to continuously improve the care and experience of service users in crisis.

You will join a vibrant multi-disciplinary team and be closely supported and supervised by the Principal Clinical Psychologist and wider CRHTT leadership team. There are well-established Clinical Psychologists within acute services who are able to offer support and professional development. Acute services are undergoing wide ranging developments in psychological provision and you would have opportunities to be influential in the change process.

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within Sheffield CRHTT at the Longley Centre; providing screening and other psychological assessments and short-term psychological interventions under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Principal Clinical Psychologist and the CRHTT leadership team and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

We are passionate about providing the very best care to the people we support, and we are looking for amazing people who share this passion to join us.

What is it that makes our Trust such a special place to work? Well, it's all about the people. Our staff, service users, carers and families all come from such diverse backgrounds and all have expertise and stories to share.

It’s important that you feel supported in your role, that the people who you work with are as passionate as you are and that your health and wellbeing is taken care of.

If you're interested in developing your career, you'll have access to a range of training and education opportunities, including apprenticeships, work experience and placements, as well as the chance to get involved in research.

We are all very proud of the difference we make to people's lives each and every day and if that's something that you'd like to be part of we'd love to have you with us.

To be required to work on a frequent basis with people with acute, severe and enduring complex mental health problems and, potentially, people with drug and alcohol misuse problems and/or learning disabilities.

To report the outcome of any such assessments to the Principal Clinical Psychologist and/or other members of the multi-disciplinary team in a timely manner.

To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological intervention and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist.

To work with other staff to assess service users and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews

To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.

To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
