The East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) is looking to appoint two Technical Officers within the Regional Technical Surveillance Unit, one based at our north hub at Wyatts Way Ripley and one based at our south hub, in Wigston Leicester, both on a full time permanent basis, to provide specialised technical solutions and capabilities to the East Midlands Special Operations Unit which investigates serious and organised crime within the five forces in the East Midlands region. (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire).

**What you’ll be doing**
- Supporting in the design, development, operation and deployment of technical surveillance systems that meet user requirements. Identifying and diagnosing faults and taking the appropriate action to resolve such issues both in the workshop or when operationally deployed.
- Operating technical equipment safely, lawfully, ethically and in line with agreed operational procedures.
- Providing specialist technical advice, support and liaison to police teams working within the five-force collaboration.

**The must haves**
- Degree, HND or equivalent in one of the following: - Computing (Systems or Network Technology), Electronics, Telecommunications, Audio/Video Engineering, or relevant experience within a technical law enforcement environment.
- Possess post qualification experience in a relevant field.
- Experience of working as part of a team as well as being capable of working in an unsupervised environment.

**Salary: - £35,982 - £50,109**

As part of the role, there is an out of hours on call element and as such the expectation is that you will live within a reasonable travelling distance of your base station.

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
