Assistant Psychologist

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join the Chronic Pain Therapy Unit based at Clatterbridge Hospital. This role will join the newly appointed Principal Clinical Psychologist as part of a service expansion and as such offers excellent opportunity to be part of service development, implementation and evaluation. The aim of this expansion is to provide patients living with chronic pain a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of their condition. As such, there is opportunity to work alongside physiotherapy, pharmacy, occupational therapy and a specialist GP as well as pain consultants.

We will be able to offer lots of opportunities for the development of clinical skills through direct and indirect work with service users through individual and group work. There will also be opportunity to develop and provide training to colleagues and likely the chance to complete audit and small-scale research projects and service development projects. We actively support career development, such as progression onto the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and will encourage you to develop the necessary skills for this.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, supportive, and welcoming multidisciplinary team, and will be well supported by the Principal Clinical Psychologist, including the provision of regular Clinical Supervision.
