Job Title - Prison Recovery Worker
Location - Devon
Hourly rate - £16 - £19 (negotiable depending on experience)
Full time (35 hours per week)
**Job Details**
To provide recovery focussed psychosocial support, information, advice, guidance and structured
interventions to people with current or past problematic drug and alcohol use. Psychosocial
interventions will be on a range of low to high intensity covering brief interventions, motivational
interviewing, contingency management and cognitive behavioural coping skills. These will be
delivered in a range of settings 1:1, group work, guided self-help and intensive structured
programmes.
Working as part of a team to promote the services available and encourage an environment and
culture of 'visible contagious recovery' through the delivery of an integrated service and the
provision of assessment, recovery planning and appropriate referral and psychosocial interventions.
This includes liaising effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key
working, case management and access to appropriate services.
**Person specification/Qualifications**
- A general knowledge and understanding of substance misuse problems and the recovery focussed approach.
- Understanding of group working and group dynamics
- An awareness of prescribing regimes (maintenance and detoxification), current substance misuse legislation and evidence based practices/recovery orientated services (desirable)
- A qualification in a relevant field (health and social care, psychology)
- Competent group work facilitation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (including writing detailed reports) with a range of other related professionals.
- IT Literate and comfortable using technology.
