Pattern Maker

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker / Model Maker to join our existing team to produce new moulds to meet customer specification, using traditional and modern methods e.g. woodworking/ CNC machinery, working from technical drawings, plastic or plywood templates or from existing foam samples and the maintenance of existing moulds.

**Roles & responsibilities include**
- Produce a mould using wet lay or cast resin method
- Carry out welding to finish mould when required
- Fit pins, frames or other components into mould when needed
- Finish mould, polish by hand and make track ready eg. mould id, track fittings
- Repair moulds either in situ or in the work shop as required
- Make alterations to moulds as requested by Production, including fault finding and make necessary repairs/alterations to rectify any problems as required by Production
- Liaise with the Sales department in new product development providing input for the purpose of quoting new parts
- Maintain safe working practices and methods and ensure workshop area is kept to the required standard of tidiness and cleanliness
- Communicate and work positively and effectively with other departments

**Experience & Skills required**
- Sufficient on the job experience and or formal training to produce patterns to required standard and timescale
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work with a variety of materials including wood, metals and resins (epoxy, polyurethane, polyester)
- Skills and knowledge to safely operate a variety of tools and machinery, including saws, planes, lathes, mills and welding equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of the production/,manufacturing process and the impact of tooling on this process
- Problem solving skills, able to identify and propose solutions to rectify issues in both new and existing moulds
- Excellent communication skills along with a positive attitude to work effectively with others

**Hours of work are**:
Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm and Fridays 7.00 am to 1.00 pm (40 hours total)

**Salary**: From £13.50 per hour
