The Strategic Buyer will join at a fantastic time to really take ownership of international supplier change that seeks to drive competitive advantages with localised supply chains from legacy LCS supply chains.

The Strategic Buyer will establish new supplier frameworks for a broad range of commodities: Plastics, Injected Moulded Parts, Rubbers, Engineering Consumables, Electronics, Foams etc.

Our client is a multi-national, corporate manufacturer. You'll join a passionate, creditable, commercially astute global organisation. Coordinating with International Stakeholders at all levels to achieve Cost Effective supply chains that drive Value for Money services and goods to meet demands.

The key focus is to develop commodity strategy, procurement planning, supplier sourcing, risk mitigation, capacity protection, contract agreements, and final contract drafting.

As a procurement and supply chain specialist you'll identify sourcing plans to drive best practice sourcing and contract formulation.

**Duties**:

- Be open, transparent and collaborative when engaging departmental teams, with an ability to work in a Manufacturing environment delivering concise Framework and call of contracts structures
- Build new supplier relationships
- Continue to build, maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery of the NPD programmes
- Influence the procurement of goods and services to meet business objectives within Quality, Cost and Delivery focused parameters
- Ensure support and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of RFQ packages and project timelines
- Prepares and own, category strategy development, commodity negotiations, and regular internal development reviews for pro-active new product or off-site fabrication
- Develop supplier relationship management. Define the relationship management plan for each supplier & ensure the appropriate contracts are engaged in line with the plan
- To proactively engage suppliers in the product development programme identifying opportunities for suppliers to develop enhanced ways of working to drive cost
- To maintain an active record of supplier risk exposure, mitigate & report to the Board

Your background:

- Experience of developing category strategies using best practice tools & techniques & applied industry knowledge
- Demonstrable experience of procurement with in: engineering, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, general manufacturing, medical devices, chemicals, or related industries
- Demonstrable knowledge of techniques to deliver continuous cost savings and supply chain excellence
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Experience in negotiating complex issues and create innovative solutions which deliver value for the business
- Project Management experience including risk management
- Consulting or VA/VE experience advantageous

What's on offer:

- £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits package, Bonus, Pension scheme, 25 days holiday
