Our Client has a requirement for a Project Planner, who will be required to work on a 2 year contract basis in Reading.

**Role Purpose**:
My client has been successfully providing Third Party Inspection and Quality Control services for a major UK Defence project for several years, with activities taking place both at the construction site and within the UK-wide supply chain. As the project moves into its final phases of installation and commissioning our client has identified additional opportunities to expand its service delivery for the final two years of the project. To deliver these additional requirements, together with our existing commitments to the project, we now need to establish, deliver and monitor for the remaining life of the project a robust, costed resource schedule built, bottom-up, from a significant volume of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) provided by the client. In order to deliver this we have identified the requirement for an experienced project engineer.

**Job Role Responsibilities**:

- Create an appropriate Work Breakdown Structure to capture all the client ITPs and match to an existing (with some additions where necessary) simplistic Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Work with the current Project Manager and delivery team to estimate the resources and timescales required to complete each ITP.
- Build a robust, resourced and costed schedule.
- Monitor delivery of that schedule, with actual cost and completion data, and re-forecast on a monthly basis.
- Provide accurate, short-term (month ahead) forecast data against the CBS to feed the contract invoicing process.

**Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications**:

- Experience in a project planner role for a major construction, fit-out and commissioning project, ideally gained in the nuclear, defence or rail sector.
- Demonstrable project planning and monitoring skills with relevant, recent experience of working with Primavera (P6). Experience using Microsoft Project will also be advantageous.
- Excellent reporting skills, both written and verbal (presentations to progress meetings).
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team, based at different locations.
- Ability to design and deliver processes for the accurate capture and reporting of progress data.
- Must be a UK national, ideally with a current Security Cleared status, or the ability to achieve that status in the short-term.
