Exchequer Assistant

RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Lincolnshire for an Exchequer Assistant to assist the Exchequer Services Manager in the provision of a professional exchequer service to personnel, creditors and debtors of the Authority.

This is a full time, 3 month fixed term contract and offers a rate of pay £10.02 per hour.

**Main Duties**:

- Process creditor invoices in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that creditors are paid within agreed time parameters.
- Undertake payroll data processing in an accurate manner to ensure that employees are paid correctly.
- Process debtor invoices for outstanding debts owed to the Force in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in the chasing of outstanding debts by following credit control procedures.
- Deputise the HQ Cashier duties in the absence of the Accountancy Assistant
- Resolve exchequer related queries in a prompt and polite manner.
- Ensure that all exchequer processes are completed within predetermined timetables.
- Assist in ensuring the correct treatment of V.A.T.
- Promote best practice in exchequer matters across the Force, providing training, advice and guidance to personnel in Force.
- May be required to undertake other duties that may be required.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Finance / Business studies or payroll related qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Cash handling and/or banking experience.
- Experience of payroll processing.
- Communicates effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon with staff and general public.
- Skills / knowledge of planning, co-ordinating and prioritising.
- Knowledge of V. A. T, Income Tax related issues and SAP payroll system is desirable.
