We have a brand-new opportunity for an SC Cleared, 2nd line SOC Analyst to join our Defence team, working in multiple environments.

Come and join our Security team in the Aerospace, Defence and security sector to support the ongoing maturity of our Security Operations Centre (SOC) and help deliver an efficient and effective service to our wide variety of clients. We are looking for a2nd line SOC Analyst (or an experienced 1st line SOC Analyst ready to progress) who can add new skills and ideas to our already diverse team. Your primary role within the Sopra Steria Cyber team will be to conduct investigations of host and network securityevents for our client’s critical infrastructure. This role is Hybrid fixed in our Hemel office.

**What you will be doing**:

- Implement and manage security tools, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Splunk
- Monitor, triage, advance and investigate security incidents on critical client infrastructure
- Provide Incident Response support when required
- Working with the SIEM Content Engineer to develop new and improved SIEM content
- Deliver client reports based on incident findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain and, where appropriate, improve and develop team knowledge of SOC technologies and processes
- Prepare Executive Summary Reports for led clients and continuously improve their content and presentation
- Work as part of a team to ensure that corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats

**What you’ll bring**:

- Tried experience in Security Operations Centre
- Good understanding of security concepts and technologies
- Experience with incident response and incident handling
- Deep technical knowledge in the analysis of PCAPs, log data and intrusion detection system events
- Detail orientated, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- SOC positions require employees to acquire and maintain SC level Security Clearance
- Solid understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, WANs, LANs, and commonly used Internet protocols such as SMTP, HTTP, FTP, POP, LDAP
- Flexibility for on call rota with a view to potentially joining a 24/7 shift rota
- SC Cleared

**It would be great if you had**:

- Understanding of static malware analysis and reverse engineering
- Understanding of programming and scripting such as Python, PowerShell, Regex
- CREST Practitioner Intrusion Analyst or other qualifications
- Experience with other SIEM technologies, namely QRadar and LogRhythm
